Abstract
Abstract This invention provides an image forming apparatus such as electrophotographic copier, microfilm equipment, recording equipment, facsimile or printer. According to this invention, a movable cleaning member is maintained in contact with a member to clean its surface, and the movement of the cleaning member is variably controlled according to the state of image formation.
