Abstract
Abstract Substantially C2+ alkane hydrocarbons are produced from mixtures of CO and H2 by contacting same, at elevated temperature, with a catalyst comprising a mixture of iron carbide and ilmenite supported on titania wherein the ratio of the iron present in said supported iron carbide and ilmenite, calculated as Fe2O3, to the surface area of the titania support ranges from about 2x10-3 to 25x10-3 grams per square meter.
