Abstract

Abstract This invention involves a process for minimizing corrosion of metals in contact with aqueous acid solutions wherein said process comprises adding to the aqueous acid solution a corrosion inhibiting amount of a dialkylaminomethyl aromatic triazole having the structure: ##STR1## wherein R 1 is from 1 to 4 substituents and is hydrogen, aliphatic of 1 to about 12 carbons, alkoxy of 2 to about 10 carbons, aroxy of 2 to about 10 carbons, or --COOR 4 wherein R 4 is aliphatic of 1 to about 12 carbons; and R 2 and R 3 are the same or different and are alkyl of 1 to about 4 carbons.
