Abstract
Abstract When the magnification is changed one or more times during the lens-moving period after a first magnification has been entered the last-entered magnification is made valid to prevent reproduction of an unwanted copy and to allow immediate reproduction of a desired copy. In an enlargement copying operation, the original is scanned for a length corresponding to a transfer paper sheet of a large size; in other copying operations, the original is scanned for a length corresponding to the size of the paper sheet. Over-heating of the original base is thus prevented during reproduction of copies of any size.
