Abstract
Abstract A method is provided wherein an aqueous titanate chelate is applied "in-line" to non-lubricated or lubricated tinplate surfaces during metal forming operations. The method provides economical benefits in using a non-combustible solvent system and in requiring minimal energy output for application or activation of the chelate. Inks or coatings that are subsequently applied to the chelate treated surfaces show improved adhesion.
