Claim 2
Dependent Claim
55 words
An alloy which consists essentially of (a) from about 9 to about 11 percent by weight of aluminum; (b) from about 0.75 to about 1.25 percent by weight of nickel; (c) from about 0.01 to about 0.1 percent by weight of indium; and (d) from about 87.65 to about 90.24 percent by weight of copper.
Claim 3
Independent Claim
111 words
A method of alloying copper, aluminum, nickel and indium to enhance the tarnish-resistance of the alloy, which comprises; (1) providing a melt of the nickel and a portion of the copper; (2) adding the aluminum and indium to the molten mixture of copper and nickel, said aluminum being in the form of an alloy with the remainder of the copper; (3) thoroughly melting the mixture of (2) above; (4) cooling the melt (3) to solidify an alloy consisting essentially of 9-11 wt.% Al, 0.75-1.25 wt.% Ni, 0.01-0.1 wt.% In and 87.64-90.24 wt.% Cu; and (5) hot-rolling the solid to reduce its thickness to from 1/7 to 1/18 of its original thickness.
