Claim 1
Independent Claim
94 words
A heating apparatus for heating liquid in a tank comprising: a hollow member disposed substantially horizontally in said tank near the bottom thereof; and a heater housed in said hollow member and extending substantially along the entire length of said hollow member, said hollow member including an inlet opening at the respective longitudinal ends of said hollow member so that said liquid enters said hollow member through each of said inlets, said hollow member further including an outlet opening at the longitudinal middle of said hollow member for discharging liquid heated by said heat.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
39 words
An apparatus as defined in claim 1 wherein the outlet opening is defined at the highest position of a top plate of the hollow member, the top plate projecting upwardly at least at the middle of said hollow member.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
32 words
An apparatus as defined in claim 2 wherein the hollow member has an insulating structure and is rigidly attached to a lid member removably mounted to a side wall of the tank.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
22 words
An apparatus as defined in claim 3 wherein the outlet opening is connected to a box member having an auxiliary heater therein.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
33 words
A heating apparatus as defined in claim 1 wherein said liquid storage tank is a fuel oil storage tank for an engine and said heater includes means for circulating engine cooling fluid therethrough.
