Abstract
Abstract Apparatus for starting an internal combustion engine, wherein the engine is started in automatic response to engagement of a clutch between the flywheel and the crankshaft of the engine, has an electric motor which not only can rotate a starter wheel for the flywheel but can also automatically start a pump serving to change the pressure of fluid in the fluid-containing clutch actuating device of the apparatus when such pressure is excessive or too low so that the device cannot engage the clutch. The speed of the flywheel and the quantity of energy stored by the flywheel can be changed in dependency on several parameters including the temperature of oil in the engine.
