Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 117 words
In a lubricating system for a two-cycle internal combustion engine operating over a range of speed and load conditions wherein the lubricant demands of the engine at a certain one of such conditions range from a maximum amount at the maximum anticipated of the other conditions and a minimum amount at the minimum anticipated other condition, said system comprising variable output lubricant delivery means for delivering lubricant to the engine, the improvement comprising means for sensing the one condition and control means for controlling the amount of output of said variable output lubricant delivery means, said control means providing a predetermined amount of lubricant between the minimum and maximum amounts in response to the sensed one condition.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 117 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 17 words
In a lubricating system as set forth in claim 1 wherein the sensed condition comprises engine speed.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 17 words
In a lubricating system as set forth in claim 2 wherein the sensing means comprises a tachometer.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 40 words
In a lubricating system as set forth in claim 3 wherein the tachometer provides a control signal to a device that is mapped in response to the other condition for providing a control for the variable output lubricant delivery means.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 21 words
In a lubricating system as set forth in claim 4 wherein the lubricant delivery means comprises an intermittently operated electric pump.
Claim 7
Independent Claim 78 words
A method of lubricating a two-cycle internal combustion engine operating over a range of speed and load conditions wherein the lubricant demands of the engine at a certain one of the conditions range from a minimum amount at the minimum anticipated of the other conditions and a maximum amount at the maximum anticipated other condition comprising the steps of sensing one of the conditions and providing an amount of lubricant between the minimum and maximum anticipated other condition.
Claim 8
Independent Claim 78 words
A method of lubricating a two-cycle internal combustion engine operating over a range of speed and load conditions wherein the lubricant demands of the engine at a certain one of the conditions range from a minimum amount at the minimum anticipated of the other conditions and a maximum amount at the maximum anticipated other condition comprising the steps of sensing one of the conditions and providing an amount of lubricant between the minimum and maximum anticipated other condition.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 18 words
A method as set forth in claim 6 wherein the speed of the engine is the sensed condition.
