Abstract

Abstract An anti-fogging film derived from the curing of polyvinyl alcohol, finely divided silica and an organic silicon compound and a hydrolysate thereof which is capable of forming silanol by hydrolysis and having such a carbon/silicon element ratio that said ratio of the surface layer of the film is larger than that of the entire film, the production process thereof, and an article covered with said film are described. The above-mentioned film has an excellent anti-fogging property, surface hardness and good service durability.
