Abstract
Abstract A silicone resin coating composition is provided which provides a tough, abrasion-resistant coating when applied to a solid substrate. The coating composition has a basic pH in the range of from 7.1-7.8 and is prepared by hydrolyzing an alkyltrialkoxysilane or aryltrialkoxysilane in an aqueous colloidal silica dispersion. A thickening agent and an ultraviolet light screening agent are added to the resultant hydrolysis product.
