Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 55 words
A method of treating whole blood to remove IgG immunoglobulins and immune complexes, which method comprises contacting said blood with an immunoadsorbent material comprising inactivated, protein A-bearing Staphlococcus aureus bacteria immobilized in a polymeric matrix said material being in the form of gel like beads having an average diameter ranging from 100 to 1000 microns.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 55 words
A method of treating whole blood to remove IgG immunoglobulins and immune complexes, which method comprises contacting said blood with an immunoadsorbent material comprising inactivated, protein A-bearing Staphlococcus aureus bacteria immobilized in a polymeric matrix said material being in the form of gel like beads having an average diameter ranging from 100 to 1000 microns.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 23 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein said polymeric matrix is selected from the group consisting of agarose, chitosan, polyacrylamide and polyacrylamide derivatives.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 12 words
A method according to claim 2 wherein said polymeric matrix is agarose.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 22 words
A method according to claim 1 wherein said blood is contacted using column chromatography that employs the immunoadsorbent as the solid phase.
Claim 6
Independent Claim 77 words
A method of retarding the growth of neoplasts in subject mammals suffering from same, which method comprises: a. contacting the blood of said subjects in an extra-corporeal circulating system with an immunoadsorbent material comprising inactivated, protein A-bearing Staphlococcus aureus bacteria immobilized in a polymeric matrix said material being in the form of gel like beads having an average diameter ranging from 100 to 1000 microns and b. transfusing said subjects contacted blood back into the host subject.
Claim 7
Independent Claim 77 words
A method of retarding the growth of neoplasts in subject mammals suffering from same, which method comprises: a. contacting the blood of said subjects in an extra-corporeal circulating system with an immunoadsorbent material comprising inactivated, protein A-bearing Staphlococcus aureus bacteria immobilized in a polymeric matrix said material being in the form of gel like beads having an average diameter ranging from 100 to 1000 microns and b. transfusing said subjects contacted blood back into the host subject.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 23 words
A method according to claim 5 wherein said polymeric matrix is selected from the group consisting of agarose, chitosan, polyacrylamide and polyacrylamide derivatives.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 12 words
A method according to claim 6 wherein said polymeric matrix is agarose.
