Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 52 words
A modified sulfated hydrocolloid extractive of Eucheuma cottonii for use in stabilizing milk-based products, said hydrocolloid in the form of a salt of calcium, magnesium, potassium or sodium or a mixture thereof, being characterized in that the viscosity in a 1.5% water solution is between 5 and 20 mPa.s at 75° C.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 52 words
A modified sulfated hydrocolloid extractive of Eucheuma cottonii for use in stabilizing milk-based products, said hydrocolloid in the form of a salt of calcium, magnesium, potassium or sodium or a mixture thereof, being characterized in that the viscosity in a 1.5% water solution is between 5 and 20 mPa.s at 75° C.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 59 words
A modified sulfated hydrocolloid extractive of Eucheuma cottonii for use in stabilizing milk-based products, said hydrocolloid in the form of a mixture of calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium salts in which the dominant cations are divalent, said hydrocolloid being characterized in that the viscosity in a 1.5% water solution is between 5 and about 10 mPa.s at 75° C.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 59 words
A modified sulfated hydrocolloid extractive of Eucheuma cottonii for use in stabilizing milk-based products, said hydrocolloid in the form of a mixture of calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium salts in which the dominant cations are divalent, said hydrocolloid being characterized in that the viscosity in a 1.5% water solution is between 5 and about 10 mPa.s at 75° C.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 70 words
A modified sulfated hydrocolloid extractive of Eucheuma cottonii for use in stabilizing milk-based products, said hydrocolloid in the form of a mixture of calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium salts in which the dominant cations are alkali metal cations selected from the group consisting of potassium and sodium, said hydrocolloid being characterized in that the viscosity in a 1.5% water solution is between about 10 and 20 mPa.s at 75° C.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 70 words
A modified sulfated hydrocolloid extractive of Eucheuma cottonii for use in stabilizing milk-based products, said hydrocolloid in the form of a mixture of calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium salts in which the dominant cations are alkali metal cations selected from the group consisting of potassium and sodium, said hydrocolloid being characterized in that the viscosity in a 1.5% water solution is between about 10 and 20 mPa.s at 75° C.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 22 words
The hydrocolloid of claim 1, 2 or 3 containing, on a pure, anhydrous basis, from about 22% to 25% sulfate by weight.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 15 words
A chocolate milk stabilized with the hydrocolloid as defined in claim 1, 2 or 3.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 24 words
A chocolate milk of claim 5 wherein the hydrocolloid is present in amounts as to provide a spread of up to about 500 ppm.
