Abstract

Abstract The present invention relates to thermoplastic films such as polypropylene and more particularly to bi-axially oriented polypropylene which are characterized by having excellent anti-static properties and good resistance to the transmission of oxygen and moisture vapor. These properties are achieved by the application of a thin primer layer containing poly (ethylenimine) to corona discharge treated oriented polypropylene film followed by the application of an aqueous dispersion of a vinylidene chloride multipolymer containing a water soluble polyol such as a low molecular weight glycol or a poly (ethylene oxide) adduct of a nonpolar molecule.
