Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 117 words
A process for the conditioning of a crude pigment which comprises treating a crude pigment selected from the group consisting of Pigment Red 123, Pigment Red 190, Pigment Yellow 112, Pigment Blue 15 and Pigment Violet 23 with polyphosphoric acid and drowning the mixture in such an amount of water, ice, a water-miscible organic liquid or a mixture of these substances so that the H 3 PO 4 equivalent of the resulting mixture is below 40%, the amount of said polyphosphoric acid being 2 to 20 parts by weight based on 1 part by weight of the 100% pigment and wherein the process is conducted at a temperature of between about 20° C. and about 200° C.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 117 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 23 words
A process according to claim 1 wherein the crude pigment is Copper Phyhalocyanine Blue with a chlorine content of about 3 to 14%.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 13 words
Process according to claim 1 wherein the crude pigment is Pigment Violet 23.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 13 words
Process according to claim 1 wherein the crude pigment is Pigment Red 123.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 22 words
Process according to claim 1 wherein the crude pigment is Copper Phthalocyanine Blue with a chlorine content of about 3 to 6%.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 24 words
Process according to claim 1 wherein the polyphosphoric acid used has an acid strength of between 105 and 125% H 3 PO 4 equivalent.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 27 words
Process according to claim 1 wherein the amount of polyphosphoric acid used is 3-8 parts by weight, based on 1 part by weight of the 100% pigment.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 12 words
Process according to claim 1 wherein the mixture is drowned in water.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 12 words
Process according to claim 1 wherein the mixture is drowned in methanol.
