Abstract Emulsions of the water-in-oil type having a water phase, an oil phase and an emulsifying agent consisting of a metal or alkaline-earth metal lanolinyl lactylate. The emulsions may also be in the form of cosmetic compositions, including other cosmetic additives, or may be used as pharmaceutical excipients.
