Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim 50 words
An electroacoustic transducer for ultrasonic inspection systems and the like which comprises: a piezoelectric element having front and back faces; and a rigid plate in intimate contact with the back face of the crystal having high ultrasonic energy attenuation characteristics, said plate being formed substantially solely of porous sintered metal.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 50 words
An electroacoustic transducer for ultrasonic inspection systems and the like which comprises: a piezoelectric element having front and back faces; and a rigid plate in intimate contact with the back face of the crystal having high ultrasonic energy attenuation characteristics, said plate being formed substantially solely of porous sintered metal.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 16 words
The transducer of claim 1 wherein said rigid plate makes electrical contact with said back face.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 13 words
The transducer of claim 1 or 2 wherein said metal is stainless steel.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 13 words
The transducer of claim 1 or 2 wherein said plate is a disk.
