Abstract

Abstract Image-transmitting bundled fibers and processes for producing the same in which a bundle of elemental image fibers is assembled without randomizing so as to maintain the picture image without distortion utilizing an inventive assembly technique. The assembled fibers are covered with cladding layer then surrounded by a light-absorbing layer of a disclosed preferred group of materials. Fiber bundles of the invention can have a length of several tens of kilometers while the bundles have a good flexibility and a sufficiently high number of elemental image fibers to convey a clear and satisfactory image.
