Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 56 words
A stable combustion fuel emulsion consisting essentially of a petroleum fuel as the continuous phase and water droplets dispersed therein, wherein said water is present in an amount less than about 20% by weight, and wherein said water droplets are substantially all of a size less than about 0.5 micron, said emulsion being free of surfactants.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 56 words
A stable combustion fuel emulsion consisting essentially of a petroleum fuel as the continuous phase and water droplets dispersed therein, wherein said water is present in an amount less than about 20% by weight, and wherein said water droplets are substantially all of a size less than about 0.5 micron, said emulsion being free of surfactants.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 22 words
A stable combustion fuel emulsion as set forth in claim 1, wherein the amount of said water is about 15% by weight.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 21 words
A stable combustion fuel emulsion as set forth in claim 1, wherein the amount of water is about 10% by weight.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 19 words
A stable combustion fuel emulsion as set forth in claim 1, wherein said petroleum fuel is a fuel oil.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 19 words
A stable combustion fuel emulsion as set forth in claim 4, wherein said fuel oil is a residual oil.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 25 words
A stable combustion fuel emulsion as set forth in claim 1, wherein said petroleum fuel and water are emulsified by high energy rotary impact milling.
Claim 8
Independent Claim 73 words
A method of forming a stable combustion fuel emulsion free of surfactants, comprising dispersing a small percentage of water in a petroleum fuel by high energy rotary impact milling said petroleum fuel and water together until substantially all of the droplets of water dispersed in said petroleum fuel have a size of less than about 0.5 micron, and wherein the percentage of water in the emulsion is less than about 20% by weight.
Claim 9
Independent Claim 73 words
A method of forming a stable combustion fuel emulsion free of surfactants, comprising dispersing a small percentage of water in a petroleum fuel by high energy rotary impact milling said petroleum fuel and water together until substantially all of the droplets of water dispersed in said petroleum fuel have a size of less than about 0.5 micron, and wherein the percentage of water in the emulsion is less than about 20% by weight.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 16 words
A method as set forth in claim 7, wherein said petroleum fuel is a fuel oil.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 16 words
A method as set forth in claim 8, wherein said fuel oil is a residual oil.
