Abstract

Abstract A novel metallically conducting charge-transfer complex derived from 5,6,11,12-tetrathiotetracene and iodine is described. This complex is preferably produced by reacting 5,6,11,12-tetrathiotetracene and iodine together in the gas phase in an inert-gas atmosphere. The novel complex is characterized by a very high electrical conductivity, and it can be used, for example, as an organic conductor element.
