Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 99 words
A process of binding aggregates, which comprises: mixing the aggregates with a resin binder for said aggregates and a vacuum-activated catalyst for curing said binder, said catalyst being an acid neutralized with a base, which base is capable of being eliminated under application of a vacuum to a maximum residual pressure of 300 mm of mercury; applying a vacuum, to a maximum residual pressure of 300 mm of mercury, to the mixture comprising said aggregates, binder and catalyst, to eliminate said base and thus activate said catalyst; and curing said binder at a temperature of 50° to 100° C.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 99 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 23 words
A process according to claim 1, wherein said vacuum is applied to a maximum residual pressure of 10 to 70 mm of mercury.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 27 words
A process according to claim 1, wherein said binder is a phenolic resin modified with furfuryl alcohol and having a water content lower than 5% by weight.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 27 words
A process according to claim 3, wherein said phenolic resin is a reaction product between formol and phenol in a molar ratio of from 0.7/1 to 1.5/1.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 22 words
A process according to claim 4, wherein the molar ratio of said phenol to said furfuryl alcohol is from 1/0.8 to 1/1.
