Abstract A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material is described comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer, said photographic material containing a 5-pyrazolone magenta coupler substituted with a tertiary alkanamido group at the 3-position thereof.

A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer, said photographic material containing a 5-pyrazolone magenta coupler represented by formula (II) or formula (III) ##STR5## wherein Ar represents a phenyl group which may be substituted with one or more substituents selected from a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group and an acylamino group; and X 2 represents an alkylthio or aralkylthio group having from 2 to 30 carbon atoms which may be substituted or an arylthio group having from 6 to 30 carbon atoms which may be substituted.

A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer, said photographic material containing a 5-pyrazolone magenta coupler represented by formula (II) or formula (III) ##STR5## wherein Ar represents a phenyl group which may be substituted with one or more substituents selected from a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group and an acylamino group; and X 2 represents an alkylthio or aralkylthio group having from 2 to 30 carbon atoms which may be substituted or an arylthio group having from 6 to 30 carbon atoms which may be substituted.
