Abstract

Abstract A relatively safe and efficient synthetic fuel composition consists of an aromatic hydrocarbon and an alcohol, most notably a mixture of toluene and n-butyl alcohol. It is especially adapted for use as an emergency reserve fuel; however, because the composition may be derived entirely from non-petroleum sources, it also has value as an extender for gasoline.
