A resin composition adapted to maintain the rigidity of an encapsulated system, said composition comprising: (a) an unsaturated polyester resin composition; (b) from about 100 to about 400 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of (a), (c) and (d) of calcium carbonate; (c) from about 0.1 to about 1.0 part by weight per 100 parts by weight of the total composition of a relatively weak acid which is capable of reacting with calcium carbonate in the presence of water to generate carbon dioxide; and (d) about 1 part by weight per 100 parts by weight of the total composition of water.
