Claim 1
Independent Claim 66 words
A method of treating the surface of a sheet of aluminum or the alloys thereof which comprises electrolytically graining said sheet under electrolyzing conditions in an aqueous solution of nitric acid and/or hydrochloric acid plus from about 1 g/l to about 60 g/l hydrogen peroxide in a sufficient concentration and for a sufficient length of time to provide a finely grained surface topography to said sheet.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 66 words
A method of treating the surface of a sheet of aluminum or the alloys thereof which comprises electrolytically graining said sheet under electrolyzing conditions in an aqueous solution of nitric acid and/or hydrochloric acid plus from about 1 g/l to about 60 g/l hydrogen peroxide in a sufficient concentration and for a sufficient length of time to provide a finely grained surface topography to said sheet.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 20 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the concentration of nitric acid ranges from about 3 g/l to about 20 g/l.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 20 words
