Abstract
Abstract A novel compound, 4,6-dimethyl-7-keto-nonan-3-ol is extracted from female imagoes of cigarette beetle. This novel compound is the sex pheromone of cigarette beetle and has sex attracting activity to male imagoes. A sex attracting composition comprises the novel compound and a solid carrier. The compound may be impregnated or adsorbed in the carrier.
