Abstract
Abstract Corrosion of metal workpieces by water-based synthetic metalworking fluids is inhibited by a small but effective amount of a corrosion inhibitor consisting essentially of a molybdate compound and a compound selected from the group consisting of nitrites, borates, alkanolamines, amine borates, amine salts of unsaturated fatty acids, alkanolamine sarcosinates, alkanolamine phosphates, and alkali, morpholine, and alkanolamine salts of arylsulfonamido carboxylic acids.
