Abstract Substantive sunscreen agents which are neutralized or quaternary ammonium salts of esters or amides of p-aminobenzoic acid, p-nitrobenzoic acid or salicylic acid with choline, lecithin, hydroxyalkyl-substituted imidazoles, 2,2-dialkylamino alkanols or alkylamines, pyridinesulfonamide, or colaminomethylformyl chloride; or omega halogenoalkylethers of salicylic acid quaternized with tertiary amines.
