Abstract

Abstract Remnants of cedar timers, including bark, sawdust, wood chips and the like are spread in a layer upon soil to enhance the growth of vegetables, especially tuberous vegetables, such as potatoes. The cedar remnants provide nutrients for vegetables, retard the growth of weeds, aid in the retention of moisture and inhibit the propagation of harmful insects.
