Abstract A hydrophilic separating carrier is a porous spherical gel having primary hydroxyl groups and is produced by an aqueous suspension homopolymerization of pentaerythritol dimethacrylate or an aqueous suspension copolymerization of pentaerythritol dimethacrylate and a methacrylate monomer having hydrophilic group and/or hydrophilic convertible group.
