Abstract
Abstract The preparation of hydrogen reserves by mixing magnesium with at least one other appropriate element, compacting the mixture obtained, and hydrogenating it. Such additional element includes at least one element selected from the group consisting of group IIIB, including the rare earths, and groups IVB, VIB, VIIB, VIII, and IA of the periodic table. In particular, the mixture is subjected to a heat treatment between the compacting and hydrogenation steps. Such reserves prepared have reversible capacities even at moderate temperatures.
