Abstract
Abstract Nonaqueous secondary cells are described utilizing electrically conductive rutile structure transition metal dioxides having a unit cell volume of at least 60 A3 and the nominal atom composition, MO2 where M is at least one member selected from the group consisting of Ru, Os, Ir, Mo, W and V, as the active positive electrode material and lithium as the active negative electrode material.
