Abstract

Abstract Photopolymerizable compositions for the production of printing plates and relief plates, consisting essentially of a photoinitiator-containing mixture of olefinically unsaturated photopolymerizable compounds with polymeric binders, contain up to 1% by weight of a compound having the structural element of anthrone, e.g. bianthrone and 9,9'-bianthryl, which results in an improved relief image in the production of relief plates.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 66 words
A photopolymerizable composition for the production of printing plates and relief plates, consisting essentially of a photoinitiator-containing mixture of at least one low molecular weight compound having at least one olefinically unsaturated photopolymerizable double bond with at least one organic polymeric binder that is compatible with said compound, wherein the composition contains, uniformly dispersed therein, from about 0.0001 to 1% by weight of 9,9'-dianthronyl or 10,10'-bisanthrone.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 66 words
A photopolymerizable composition for the production of printing plates and relief plates, consisting essentially of a photoinitiator-containing mixture of at least one low molecular weight compound having at least one olefinically unsaturated photopolymerizable double bond with at least one organic polymeric binder that is compatible with said compound, wherein the composition contains, uniformly dispersed therein, from about 0.0001 to 1% by weight of 9,9'-dianthronyl or 10,10'-bisanthrone.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 21 words
A photopolymerizable composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the amount of anthrone compound is from 0.0001 to 0.1% by weight.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 13 words
A photopolymerizable composition as claimed in claim 1, including a thermal polymerization inhibitor.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 24 words
A photopolymerizable composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein said organic polymeric binder has recurring --NH--CO-- groups in the main chain of the molecule.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 13 words
