Abstract

Abstract Combinations of boric acid with certain dispersible or soluble metal salts, oxides and hydroxides, preferably also with certain hydrocarboxylic acids, provide unexpectedly enhanced flame retardancy to carpets, said flame retardancy being durable to usual carpet cleaning procedures. Such combinations may take the form of certain metal borocitrates or borotartrates.
