Abstract
Abstract A process for preparing an m-bromo-benzotrifluoride by brominating an unsubstituted, halo or alkyl substituted benzotrichloride in the presence of a catalyst and thereafter fluorinating the brominated product at elevated temperature and pressure. Also disclosed are new m-bromo-benzotrifluorides including 4-fluoro-3-bromo-benzotrifluoride and 4-methyl-3-bromobenzotrifluoride.
