Claim 1
Independent Claim
100 words
In a process for preparing a copolymer latex in which two or more comonomers of alkyl acrylates or alkyl methacrylates wherein the alkyl group contains from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, are polymerized in the presence of a catalytic amount of a substantially water soluble free radical polymerization catalyst for a period sufficient to provide a copolymer, the improvement which comprises polymerizing said alkyl acrylates or alkyl methacrylates in the presence of a polymerization promoting amount of a multifunctional acrylate which is an acrylic or methacrylic acid ester of a polyol in which at least two hydroxyl groups are esterified.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
