Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 15
Claim 1
Independent Claim 113 words
A stable, liquid, concentrated dyeing composition, consisting essentially of from 10% to 80% of at least one water-soluble basic dyestuff which is substantially free of inorganic salts, having a mean particle size of 0.1 to about 20 microns, dispersed in from 90% to 20% of an organic dispersion medium in which the dyestuff is insoluble, said dispersion medium consisting essentially of a water-soluble, liquid, organic solvent selected from the group consisting of polyhydric alcohols and ethers thereof, or mixture thereof with up to 20% water, wherein said dispersion medium has a boiling point above 80° C., and wherein said dyeing composition has a viscosity of 100 to about 250 cp at 20° C.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 113 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 11 words
The composition of claim 1, wherein the organic solvent is water-miscible.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 12 words
The composition of claim 2, wherein the organic solvent is ethylene glycol.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 16 words
The composition of claim 1, wherein said dispersion medium has a boiling point above 100° C.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 15 words
The composition of claim 1, wherein the dispersion medium contains not more than 5% water.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 16 words
The composition of claim 1, further comprising 0.1 to 3% by weight of an anti-foaming agent.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 12 words
The composition of claim 1, further comprising a non-ionic or cationic surfactant.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 119 words
A process for the preparation of a stable, liquid, dyeing composition, comprising the steps of mixing 10 to 80% of at least one water-soluble basic dyestuff which is substantially free of inorganic salts with 90 to 20% of an organic dispersion medium in which the dyestuff is insoluble, said dispersion medium consisting essentially of a water-soluble, liquid, organic solvent, selected from the group consisting of polyhydric alcohols and ethers thereof, or mixture thereof with up to 20% water, wherein said dispersion medium has a boiling point above 80° C., grinding the mixture in the presence of water-insoluble grinding means to give dyestuff having a mean particle size of 0.1 to about 20 microns, and subsequently removing said grinding means.
Claim 10
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 11 words
The process of claim 8, wherein the organic solvent is water-miscible.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 30 words
The process of claim 8, wherein a non-ionic or cationic surfactant and/or 0.1 to 3% by weight of an anti-foaming agent is added to the mixture before the grinding step.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 22 words
The process of claim 8, wherein the grinding is carried out in a ball mill, an attrition mill or a sand mill.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 14 words
The process of claim 8, wherein the grinding is carried out at room temperature.
Claim 15
Dependent Claim 18 words
The process of claim 8, wherein the ratio of dyestuff to dispersion medium is between 1:6 and 1:2.
