Abstract

Abstract An improved binder composition for use in the foundry process comprises a mixture of low molecular weight essentially mononuclear methylolated phenols which are cured through a reaction with a polyisocyanate. In the preferred embodiment, a minor amount of polyether polyol, a mutual solvent and a catalyst, preferably an amine catalyst, is mixed with the phenolic component.
