Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim 109 words
A glass fiber strand comprising: a plurality of glass filaments that are coated at forming with an aqueous emulsion of an unplasticized film former comprising a copolymer of from 70 to 80% vinyl acetate and 20 to 30% of an acrylate ester whose ester portion contains an alkyl radical of from 2 to 8 carbon atoms, said film former comprising between 1.4 and 2.5 weight percent of the total dry strand weight, and said coated fibers being drawn together into a strand and dried, and whereby the fibers of the strand are bonded together with a high degree of strand integrity that is preserved when the strand is chopped.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 109 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 43 words
A coiled package of the strand of claim 1 wherein the strand when coated with the aqueous emulsion is coiled into a package before drying, and following which the coils of strand can be separated from each other without disruption of the strand.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 21 words
The strand of claim 2 uncoiled from the package and chopped into lengths between approximately 1/4 inch and approximately 2 inches.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 17 words
A cementitious material having a high alkali content and reinforced by the chopped strand of claim 3.
