Claim 1
Independent Claim
107 words
An intracervical contraceptive device comprising a tubular member open at each end and adapted to be positioned in the cervical canal and having a valve member incorporated therein which allows body fluids to pass from the uterine cavity into the vagina but not in the reverse direction, wherein the upper end of the tubular member is provided with a collar through which a valve stem or rod slidably passes, the upper end of the stem or rod being provided with an enlargement and the lower end of the rod being provided with a spherical valve member which seats on a valve seat located with the tubular member.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
31 words
A device as claimed in claim 1 wherein a dished valve member is located below the spherical valve member to seat on a second valve seat located within the tubular member.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
64 words
An intracervical contraceptive device comprising a tubular member open at each end and adapted to be positioned in the cervical canal and having a valve member incorporated therein which allows body fluids to pass from the uterine cavity into the vagina but not in the reverse direction, wherein a sleeve provided with internally directed projections is fitted into the tubular member below the valve.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
64 words
An intracervical contraceptive device comprising a tubular member open at each end and adapted to be positioned in the cervical canal and having a valve member incorporated therein which allows body fluids to pass from the uterine cavity into the vagina but not in the reverse direction, wherein a sleeve provided with internally directed projections is fitted into the tubular member below the valve.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
74 words
An intracervical contraceptive device comprising a tubular member open at each end and adapted to be positioned in the cervical canal and having a valve member incorporated therein which allows body fluids to pass from the uterine cavity into the vagina but not in the reverse direction, wherein tubular member is formed of plastic and the upper portion is flattened so that the walls normally lie together in contact to form the valve member.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
74 words
An intracervical contraceptive device comprising a tubular member open at each end and adapted to be positioned in the cervical canal and having a valve member incorporated therein which allows body fluids to pass from the uterine cavity into the vagina but not in the reverse direction, wherein tubular member is formed of plastic and the upper portion is flattened so that the walls normally lie together in contact to form the valve member.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
22 words
A device as claimed in claim 4 wherein the tubular member is provided at its upper end with an outwardly projecting flange.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
24 words
A device as claimed in claim 1 wherein a sleeve provided with internally directed projections is fitted into the tubular member below the valve.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
70 words
An intracervical contraceptive device comprising a tubular member open at each end and adapted to be positioned in the cervical canal and having a valve member incorporated therein which allows body fluids to pass from the uterine cavity into the vagina but not in the reverse direction and is provided with a member which projects from the valve member into the uterine cavity to prevent accidental dislodgement of the device.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
70 words
An intracervical contraceptive device comprising a tubular member open at each end and adapted to be positioned in the cervical canal and having a valve member incorporated therein which allows body fluids to pass from the uterine cavity into the vagina but not in the reverse direction and is provided with a member which projects from the valve member into the uterine cavity to prevent accidental dislodgement of the device.
