Abstract

Abstract A skid control system for controlling the brakes of the wheels of a wheeled vehicle in accordance with a deceleration rate which is preselected in accordance with the coefficient of friction between the wheel and the road whch is determined by sensing the spin-up rate of the wheels during the time of brake relief. Additionally, the time that the valve is operated to relieve pressure at the brakes is varied with vehicle speed and with the coefficient of friction between the wheel and the road.
