Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 44 words
A pharmaceutical composition for barium opacification of the digestive tract, comprising colloidal barium sulfate and a polyacrylamide having a molecular weight of at least about one million in an aqueous vehicle, the polyacrylamide content being between 0.1% and 5% of the barium sulfate content.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 44 words
A pharmaceutical composition for barium opacification of the digestive tract, comprising colloidal barium sulfate and a polyacrylamide having a molecular weight of at least about one million in an aqueous vehicle, the polyacrylamide content being between 0.1% and 5% of the barium sulfate content.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 11 words
A composition according to claim 1, wherein the polyacrylamide is nonionic.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 15 words
A composition according to claim 1, wherein the aqueous vehicle is formed of distilled water.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 17 words
A composition according to claim 3 wherein an antiseptic agent has been added to the aqueous vehicle.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 10 words
A composition according to claim 1 containing a thickening agent.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 10 words
A composition according to claim 1 containing an antifoaming agent.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 47 words
A method of preparing a pharmaceutical composition as defined in claim 1 comprising preparing an aqueous gel of the polyacrylamide and the aqueous vehicle, incorporating the resultant gel into screened colloidal barium sulfate, homogenizing, and adjusted to the desired volume by the addition of the aqueous vehicle.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 18 words
A method according to claim 8 wherein a thickening agent and an antifoam agent are added before homogenizing.
