A composition of matter stabilized against ultraviolet deterioration which comprises a synthetic organic polymer normally subject to ultraviolet deterioration containing from 0.1% to 2% by weight of the polymer of a stabilizing compound of the formula ##STR19## wherein A is --CH 2 --, --CH 2 CH 2 -- or ##STR20## R 1 and R 2 are the same or different and each is a straight- or branched-chain alkyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or 1-methylcyclohexyl or α,α-dimethylbenzyl, R 3 and R 4 ar the same or different and each is an alkyl group having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms or R 3 and R 4 together with the carbon atom to which they are bound form a saturated alicyclic residue having from 5 to 8 carbon atoms or the group of formula: ##STR21## and n is 0 or 1.
