A method of treating hypertension which comprises administering to a patient a pharmaceutically effective amount of a compound of the formula ##STR9## wherein X is ##STR10## or CHOH; R is hydrogen or methyl; R 1 and R 2 are the same or different and stand for hydrogen, halogen, straight or branched chain alkyl of up to 5 carbon atoms, alkoxy of up to 5 carbon atoms, trifluoromethyl, hydroxy, phenoxy or phenyl; R 3 and R 4 are hydrogen or methoxy; n is the integer 1 or 2; or an acid addition salt thereof prepared from a pharmaceutically acceptable acid.
