Abstract

Abstract Linear copolyesters formed from (A) isophthalic acid and, optionally, terephthalic acid and (B) bis(4-beta-hydroxyethoxyphenyl) sulfone and ethylene glycol are described. The linear polyesters contemplated have glass transition temperatures higher than that of poly(ethylene terephthalate) and oxygen and CO2 permabilities less than that of poly(ethylene terephthalate).
