Abstract

Abstract Pyrotechnic materials containing a crosslinked polymer as a component thef are decomposed by heating to a temperature of about 50° to about 160° C in a liquid medium comprising an active hydrogen containing compound capable of cleaving the chemical bonds contained in said polymer. One or more components of the pyrotechnic material may be separated from the products of the decomposition and reclaimed.
