Abstract
Abstract N-acylanilides of the formula I ##STR1## wherein the R 4 -CO-moiety stems from the carbonic acid of an optionally halo substituted furan, tetrahydrofuran, pyridine or pyrimidine heterocycle (and wherein the remaining substituents R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 5 , R 6 and X are defined hereinafter) are effective microbicides. They are preferably used to combat phytopathogenic fungi.

A compound of the formula ##STR124## wherein R 1 represents methyl, R 2 is in ortho-position to the amino group and represents methyl, ethyl or chlorine, --X--R 3 is ##STR125## R 5 represents hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 3 carbon atoms or halogen, R 6 represents hydrogen or methyl, the total number of carbon atoms of the substituents R 1 , R 2 , R 5 and R 6 in the phenyl ring not exceeding 8, R' is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, and R 4 is 2-furanyl or 2-tetrahydrofuranyl which may be substituted by methyl or halogen, with the proviso that the phenyl ring contains a further substituent other than hydrogen if it is substituted in 2,6- or in 2,3,6-position by methyl and if at the same time R 4 represents the 2-furanyl radical and --X--R 3 represents the α-propionic acid methyl ester.
