Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 8
Claim 1
Independent Claim
74 words
A process for depositing a tenaceous, adhesion-promoting oxide coating on the surface of a metal part, comprising: cleaning the surfaces of said part, suspending said part as the cathode in a solution containing isoproponol and a metal salt selected from the group consisting essentially of aluminum nitrate, cupric nitrate, cobalt nitrate, and nickelous nitrate, electrolyzing said part at a current density ranging from 0.02 to 0.5 amp./in. 2 for times ranging from 5-60 seconds.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
13 words
The process in accordance with claim 1 wherein said metal part is titanium.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
13 words
The process in accordance with claim 1 wherein said metal part is magnesium.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
12 words
The process in accordance with claim 1 wherein said part is aluminum.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
13 words
The process in accordance with claim 1 wherein said part is stainless steel.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
69 words
A process for depositing a tenaceous adhesion-promoting oxide coating on the surface of a graphite-epoxy part, comprising: cleaning the surfaces of said part, suspending said part as the cathode in a solution containing isoproponol and a metal salt selected from the group consisting essentially of aluminum nitrate, cupric nitrate, cobalt nitrate, and nickelous nitrate, and electrolyzing said part at a current density of 0.1 amp./in. 2 for 30 seconds.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
69 words
A process for depositing a tenaceous adhesion-promoting oxide coating on the surface of a graphite-epoxy part, comprising: cleaning the surfaces of said part, suspending said part as the cathode in a solution containing isoproponol and a metal salt selected from the group consisting essentially of aluminum nitrate, cupric nitrate, cobalt nitrate, and nickelous nitrate, and electrolyzing said part at a current density of 0.1 amp./in. 2 for 30 seconds.
