In a silicone textile treating composition containing a silicone textile treating agent, the improvement of having present in said composition a flammability retarding amount sufficient to retard flammability of a flammability retarder of the formula: ##STR3## wherein x has a value of from 2 to 4; n has a value of from 1 to 5; R is carboxyl or hydroxyl; or a salt, ether or ester thereof.
