Abstract

Abstract Tungsten hexacarbonyl acts as a photochromic agent and an infrared absorber when incorporated in liquid allyl glycol carbonates, such as allyl diglycol carbonate, and polymerizates thereof. Photochromic, infrared-absorbing optical and ophthalmic lenses containing tungsten derived from tungsten hexacarbonyl are made.
